Club Brunch 2/21/2010
Award Winners
Long Island Roadsters Members
A special thank you to our esteem member Paulie for setting it up. Our turn out was better again this year. As we even had a Grand Daughter join us. The little bundle of love of the proud Grand Parents Pete & Lynn Giorge. Oh they are precious at that age. The menu was your typical brunch with just about everything one could imagine. I believe everyone departed with no thoughts of what's for dinner! I even managed to get in 3 Bloody Mary's, not bad when you think they didn't start serving alcohol till 12:00 pm. Need to schedule our next Brunch a little later... I decided to maintain my tradition of giving out some awards for our annual event. Selected a few new categories to assist with the tradition of taking a few shots at our members; Darwin Award; this was presented for our fond member Rip Van Paulie, who made reservations for our Christmas Dinner at a restaurant that went out of business prior to the event... Can't make that up... Invisible Car; This was given to a dedicated member that continues to come out on Friday Nights but never brings his car, and now it's apart so who knows when we'll see it again. This was presented to Pete Giorge. Loudest Decibels; This award was selected for a member that seems to be confused with left and right or up and down. When it comes to his header installation. Oh don't let me forget these are open headers that due make quite the loudest noise level. This was presented to Jim Ole Man Leys. The
following awards are more sincere, but again they are in my opinion.
with his gorgeous running board fendered 34. Best Coupe; went to Johnny Frontera with his yellow beast. Best Sedan; went to Richie Staib with his Orange Grocery getter. Best T Bucket went to Richie Longo with the Finest T Bucket on Long Island. Runner up to this award was Dennis Shimborski with his gorgeous Red Beauty 23 T Bucket that I have to add is immaculate! Once again my sincere thanks to the dedicated members that made this event. I think it's pretty special we get together as a family and take the time to know each others families. I find it to be a pretty nice event that everyone enjoys and looks forward too. Hope to continue this tradition in the future. Once again a special thank you to Rip Van Paulie for taking the time and effort from his busy schedule to set this up for our enjoyment. Regards to all your President Jimmy
